Two ways to win
1. Fill the treasury (the economic win)
Get the treasury to 10,000 gold within 32 turns. Every player alive at the moment the treasury tips over the threshold wins. Everyone shares the victory equally โ there's no "first place" among winners.
- NPC income contributes ~350g/turn passive (balanced preset).
- The rest has to come from collected taxes, dragon death payments, and pawn shop sales.
- A perfect 32-turn NPC-only baseline produces about 11,200g โ but it assumes no dragon attacks, which is impossible. Real games need taxes on top.
2. Kill the dragon (the heroic win)
Any living non-king player can attempt to slay the dragon if they have a complete weapon set (see Dragon-Slay Paths). A successful slay instantly ends the game in victory regardless of treasury.
- Dedicated role + correct weapon = 100% success.
- Borrowed weapon from another role = 30% success, 70% dead.
- The slayer is credited on the end-game screen with their weapon's name โ the only form of individual recognition in the game.
Ways to lose
- Time out โ turn 32 passes with the treasury below 10,000 and the dragon still alive. Everyone loses.
- Full extinction โ every player (including the king) is dead. The kingdom is an empty hall. Everyone loses, retroactively.
- Treasury hits zero โ the kingdom cannot pay state upkeep. Game over. Everyone loses.
- Failed slay chain โ a cascade of failed dragon-slay attempts eats the strongest players and leaves nobody alive who can try again.
Individual outcomes
While the group wins or loses collectively, you personally can still have a good run or a bad one:
- Alive at end โ you're part of the victory (if the group won) and get post-game achievements and career credit.
- Dead before end โ you don't share in the final victory. Your career stats still track gold earned, turns survived, and any achievements unlocked before death.
- Dragon slayer โ special credit on the end screen. Permanent on your profile.
- King at end โ separately tracked in leaderboards and achievements ("Kept the Crown").
Post-game screen
Every game ends on a results screen showing:
- Victory or defeat, and why
- Who slew the dragon (if applicable) and with which weapon
- Final treasury total
- Per-player stats: role, gold earned, turns survived, special function (revealed)
- Achievements unlocked this game, with toast notifications
- Career progress updates โ games played, wins, lifetime gold
From there you can return to the lobby, check the leaderboard, or view your profile.
